We are all in the preparation process of marriage as we continually look to the arrival of our Savior Jesus Christ. However, these weddings pale in comparison to the majesty and breathtaking experience of when the new Jerusalem will arrive for those who loved God. Our earthly weddings are often well-planned and romantic in nature. “I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband” (Revelation 21:2). His good gift is to be celebrated and encouraged to continue throughout eternity. A Christian couple celebrates how the Lord brought them together in spite of their own weaknesses and faults. The gift of God in the form of a husband or wife is a beautiful expression of His grace. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17).
